Floodwater in WP

Postby skronkman Wed Oct 29, 2014 8:43 am

i see that after all the rain we have had that many of the rivers feeding into WP top end are flooding. I imagine this means lots of freshwater in the bay and very murky. I was planning a trip out tonight and wondering how the fishing will be effected. Should I stay away from the channels? Should I fish deeper? I have no experience with fishing in the bay after heavy rain. Is it even worth heading out? Perhaps it's a good thing and all the fish are way up the channel eating all the new food washing down from the floods? Anyone with any knowledge of how best to fish this situation?
Thanks.

The fresh muddy water will be floating on top of the salt. The only problem I can see is there maybe an increase in the amount of weed and rubbish being washed down the bay.

My best sessions mind you it was on pinkie snapper, was off frankston pier and you couldn't even see the bottom, but the bite was real hot, I eventually stopped fishing after running out of bait.
